Three steps, and we walk them with you.
We confirm with you
You hear from us within one business day with the session calendar and your seats.
You apply for the grant
Massachusetts teams can follow our step-by-step grant guide, and we will email it to you as well. The state needs your application at least 21 days before the first session.
Your team shows up
Your team's course portal logins arrive before the first session. We do not invoice until your grant award is approved.
Before you press the button.
Is reserving a commitment to pay?
No. Reserving asks us to hold seats for your team. We confirm the calendar with you by email first, and nothing is invoiced at this step. Payment is due before the start of the first session.
When do we get reimbursed?
After your team finishes the course. The Express Program is a reimbursement program, so the order matters: tuition is paid, your team completes all eight sessions, and then you ask the Commonwealth to pay you back.
Within 30 days of the last session, email four things to express@commcorp.org: the signed reimbursement form that came with your Express agreement, the list of employees who attended, our invoice (it already shows the course name exactly as approved), and proof of payment, such as a bank or card statement or an accounting record showing the payment cleared.
We keep your paperwork simple. You get a receipt from us the moment you pay, and a confirmation that your team completed every lesson right after the final session. Commonwealth Corporation then reviews your request and pays you in its next periodic check run, or by direct deposit if you have filed their electronic funds transfer form. Reimbursement covers up to the amount approved in your agreement, and never more than you actually paid. See every step in our grant guide.
What does it cost?
Tuition is $3,000 per person for all eight sessions. Eligible Massachusetts nonprofits can be reimbursed up to 100% through the Workforce Training Fund Express Program, up to $15,000 per organization per calendar year. See how the grant works.
We are not in Massachusetts. Can we join?
Yes. The cohorts are open to nonprofits everywhere. Only the state grant stops at the state line.
Can board members come?
Yes, and they are wonderful to have in the room. The grant covers W-2 employees only, so a board member's seat is paid rather than reimbursed.
What will we cover?
Eight sessions, from the case for support through major gifts, each with a little pre-work and one small commitment afterward. See the eight sessions.
Would you rather talk it through first?
Start with a free conversation. No pitch, no binder. Tell us where your team is trying to go, and we will work out together whether this is the right path.
